In 2001, TUM and Siemens decided to establish the Center of Knowledge Interchange (CKI) on the university’s main campus in order to promote and support cooperation between both organisations throughout all phases of joint projects.

The CKI networks experts from the worlds of industry and academia. Its primary goal is to bring innovations to market with speed and success.

The programme’s action plan includes:

 

  • Organizing and strengthening the continuous exchange of information
  • Promoting interdisciplinary innovations in all fields
  • Expanding on a joint internationalisation strategy
  • Intensifying measures aimed at developing talent and promoting the discourse surrounding educational policy

The CKI also helps set up and plan projects. Joint conferences, workshops and hands-on discussions increase transparency for both parties and create an “innovation marketplace” where supply meets demand.
